This town has a lot of beautifully restored old homes (1800’s onward) in the downtown area. We always enjoy the houses as much as the gardens on this annual tour.

I love deep covered porches. New houses almost always have porches that are far too small to be useful. I think you need a depth of at least 2.5 times the size of the chairs you intend to use. This one is right:
