I photograph garden gates everywhere I go. I’m sure it’s connected to the fact that I’m a complete garden geek and I get this wave of excitement passing through any garden gate to see what’s on the other side.

Once a garden gate has used up its first life, it’s time to transform into garden art. Garden Gate 2.0 is just as sweet!
I got this one from a junk pile. Fortunately, there’s still a few remaining second-hand shop owners who don’t see the beauty of these old metal gates.
Wooden gates make great art too. If you ever see one in the trash, rescue it! They can be reused as gates, hung on walls, or used as dividers in the garden.
A lone garden gate is also a great place to hang garden art or signs.
