Toadstools or mushroom garden art is a simple garden art project you can do with kids in an afternoon. This is a great starter project to begin a fairy or gnome miniature garden.
Once the toadstool is in place, the kids can dream up all sorts of fun things to make using natural materials like leaves, pinecones, acorns, stones, moss, and twigs.
There are lots of options for materials including household bowls (wood, metal, glass), as well as concrete or quickcrete. Tree branches or other items such as pipe can be used to form the stems.
I like to use wooden salad bowls to form the top of the toadstool. There are complete free garden art toadstool instructions here.
