Creative Process

So many of you have requested a resource like this over years!

While the basic idea has been rolling around my brain for some time, it all came to fruition when I asked my site designer Alice Priestley if she would like to tackle this project.

Combining coding skills, drawing, a love of language, and a whole lotta creativity, it was a perfect fit for Alice’s multiple talents.

We’ve had a lot of fun behind the scenes testing the tool to see what sorts of names it would suggest. If you love a mishmash of word play, creative writing, and poetry, you’ll be nodding your head right now knowing how enjoyable this can be.

Sample Names

Inconsolable Stallion Domain name for garden.
Laughing Crowfoot Moor name for garden.
Stormy Dill House-jungle name for houseplant garden.
Weird Crocker Terrace name for garden.
  • Improbable Polliwog Patch
  • Decidedly Weird Birdie Nest
  • Disastrous Dandelion Haven
  • Whimsical Bean Pole Manor
  • Moonlit Robin Nursery
  • Lucky Dill Hood

It was quite something to be sure the results generated are satisfyingly creative yet roll off the tongue but I do believe both have been achieved.

And with that, a big thank you to Alice for making yet another creative wish come true.

The challenge now is to decide which name I want to use for my garden. So many good options!

    Hello!
I came across your website as I search for unheated greenhouses. I am not a newbie but know just enough to do it either right or very wrong. I love being outside in my yard. I want to plant everything, but don’t know where to start or what to get. My dream is to have a front and back yard full of flowers. I am all about giving back to nature. My husband and I love birds and butterflies. We do take care of the bees at a distance due to my husband being highly allergic. I love your website and all the wonderful material, suggestions, and opportunities you give. I did design my own garden named- Fruitful Lily Moor. It reminds us of Ireland, which we hope to visit one day. I look forward to learning so much. Thank you for your willingness to share! Rhonnie – North Carolina, United States

      Hi Rhonnie,
There’s only one way to start! Jump in and learn as you go.
We’re lucky these days that we can avoid a whole lot of grief if we focus on native plants suited to our region and avoid (at all costs) anything invasive.
In case it helps, I too am allergic to bee stings. My garden is filled with flowers and thousands of bees and I’ve never been stung.
Take that garden passion and enjoy the journey!
