How to Make a Mini Terrarium
Instructions for creating a miniature terrarium with a wetland theme. Includes recommended supplies and plants.

- 1 Pteris
- 1 Haworthia umbraticola
- 1 Haworthia viscosa
- 1 Paphiopedilum
- 1 Hypnaceae
Terrarium
- 1 3-Quart Jar or smaller
- 1 bag White silicate soil
- 1 bag Pumice medium grain
- 1 bag Potting Mix
- 1 bag Granular material medium, based on charcoal and porous ceramics
Instructions
- Place a small amount of white silicate soil into the container, then cover with a layer of pumice to form a base.1 bag White silicate soil, 1 bag Pumice
- Decide how high to position plants and pour potting mix into container.1 bag Potting Mix
- Decide where the front of the terrarium will be. With the exception of moss, secure all plants with granular medium, working from the tallest plants first.
- Use tweezers to adjust the overall composition.
Notes
- Keep out of direct sun. If growing outdoors, place in a bright but shaded place.
- If growing indoors, place near a window in a spot that is well ventilated and receives light as bright as that filtered through a lace curtain.
- With the exception of succulents, use a spray bottle to make sure plants get plenty of water and do not dry out.
