Bed Frame Garden Art

When old bed frames are no longer wanted in the house, it’s time to send them to the garden.
This collection of ideas comes from gardens I have visited.
Each offers a unique way to give an old bed a new life.
Bed Frame Garden Bench

This first idea is a classic and will require a welder. The old bed frame has been fashioned into a garden bench with a wooden seat added.

With or without the seat, this would look sweet enclosing a collection of potted flowers.
Dream Time

I photographed this bed years ago on a garden tour. The bed was under a raised garden shed. The curtains were gently billowing in the wind. I think every guest on that tour just wanted to lay down and dream the day away.
In the next photo they’ve turned an antique children’s bed into a flower planter.

Real Bed Veggie Bed

This gardener is so creative. Here the bed frames are secured in the ground at either end of the combination flower and vegetable garden.

And what’s a garden bed without a side table?

Brass Beauty

This one makes a statement. What a creative way to dress up a vegetable bed. These ornate bed frames were popular years ago, and, while they may not be the most practical choice today, they look gorgeous in the garden.
