Apples for Everyone
This is the time of year when I go nuts for apples. It’s the only time they are fresh off the trees (and taste uber fabulous) and we have so many varieties to choose from.
The rest of the year the selections consist of varieties that travel and store well, but aren’t nearly as interesting as the others. It’s just like tomatoes: the best ones are often the most perishable.
I’ve compiled a list of the apples that bake beautifully (and taste delicious, of course) in pies: Best Pies For Apples.
Here I’m sharing a whole bunch of apple recipes including apple salad, apple butter, pies, crisps, jams, and even an apple cocktail.
Go stock up at an orchard, choose a variety of apples, and try some new recipes.
These recipes are from blogging friends and some are my own. Visit each link to get the recipe.
